Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist

Dr. Ijeoma (Ij) Iko

As a dedicated reproductive endocrinologist and infertility (REI) specialist, Dr. Iko brings a wealth of expertise and a deep understanding of the emotional and physical challenges that come with fertility care.

Dr. Iko completed her bachelor’s degree at Duke University, earned her MD from Brown University, and finished her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of California, Davis. She then served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago before completing her fellowship in REI at the University of Utah. During her REI fellowship, Dr. Iko also obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) with a research focus on how poor air quality negatively impacts fertility treatment outcomes.

Dr. Iko’s clinical focus includes infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and reproductive endocrine disorders. Her research delves into disparities in infertility diagnoses and treatment outcomes, as well as the influence of social and environmental factors on fertility. In addition to her medical work, she is actively involved in patient education and advocacy at both state and national levels.

Having undergone fertility preservation treatment herself, Dr. Iko understands firsthand the hopes and challenges that come with the process. Her compassionate approach to patient care is rooted in her own experience, ensuring she offers personalized support and guidance throughout each patient’s unique journey to parenthood.
